one-onethousand...two

First you see lightening...then you hear thunder, the storm is near. You see lightning and so you start counting, one-onethousand, two-onethousand, and then BOOM, you hear a crack of thunder. It's said that by counting the time between the first sign of lightening, and then the first sound of thunder you can tell approximately how many miles away the storm actually is. Maybe we secure the windows shut, that plants are covered, car windows shut, etc. We go somewhere high and dry until the storm passes.

We can count down to prepare ourselves for stormy weather, and make sure we are secure and safe...why wouldn't we do the same for ourselves as it pertains to situations in our lives? Holidays, big events, meetings, changes - we have to prepare ourselves. After the storm passes, we notice that the flowers have been watered, the lakes have been filled and the Earth is a little bit greener. Same goes for ourselves...making sure we are safe and sound and prepared for a storm, will ensure we come out a little bit stronger, taller, greener afterwards.

We prepare for the storm indeed, but we also notice the new life that has resulted!
