Blend in

What happens when we cannot get ourselves out of a situation. You want to sell your house but you are stuck, you are in the middle of a long meeting, a disagreement, you are stuck in traffic, stuck, stuck, stuck - all situations we want IMMEDIATE resolution or an OUT that we can't seem to find one. We start to react, we start to feel heat rise in our bodies, feelings of anger, stress, anxiety...eventually, we react with an outburst, a cry, an emotionally charged statement.

What if, instead of wasting our efforts on trying to get out of a situation we simply change focus to 'blend in.' We trick ourselves into feeling apart of the group or the situation to help ease the feelings of anxiety. We're not alone in our mortgage payments, we feel a bond to the people in the meeting with us who might be feeling the same way, instead of opposing others in a disagreement we blend into what they might be thinking and come to a resolution, sitting in traffic allows us to hear our favorite song or sit in silence and breath taking in the scenery of the sky.

Blend in...soon there WILL be an out, but why waste energy when the timing might not be right - remember that forcing and out might cause breakage...allow it to happen organically by blending into your scenery...
