take the BACK seat.

We are always so eager to jump in the driver seat. To step in and take over, take control. To make sure we know which direction we're going in and see every step along the way. We control the way the wheel turns, the temperature in the vehicle, the scenery we take in and the roads we travel. Our anxiety peaks when we cannot control the traffic or a misguided direction. We almost start to panic when that sense of control is lost - we get angry at others in their vehicles watching their every move and shouting at them when their moves do not align with our expectations.

Get out of the driver seat - haven't you realized by now that we are NOT in control of most things that happen in this life of ours. Take a back seat, roll down the window and take in the fresh air. Look around and ask that the music be turned up so that you can sing along with the tunes. Let the driving force of your vehicle be trust and faith in a greater power, knowing that you will get to where you need to be safe and sound.

Sit back, buckle up and enjoy the ride...take a back seat and know that you will get to your destination safe and sound.
