Mental Preparation

This weekend is the big Detroit Marathon and 1/2 Marathon. While my short furry legs prohibit me from walking or running this grand event, I know the energy and preparation that goes into the training. It is a physical and mental challenge that requires full heart and soul.

There's the weeks and weeks of running or walking, the mental challenges to run / walk when you would rather not be doing so, and the motivation to stick with it for so long. Then at last, that weekend comes when your body just knows, it's time, let's do it. I will be cheering along from the comfort of my couch with superball near by - good luck to all!

If you are preparing for the events this weekend, or have your own challenge ahead, remember that as physically demanding something can be on your body, mental preparation is just as important. Take some time, sit quietly and get your head in the same state of being that your body is...ready...let's do this...

Prepare the puppy...
