We don't get to choose who our family is...it's something that we're given...family members are people we're "stuck" with, through thick and thin, good times and bad. Sometimes we don't always agree, and maybe we're often very different from one another.
Sometimes your siblings might take the toy right from out of your mouth, or they start eating your food before you've even had a chance to take a taste - you have to be patient. Sometimes you have a different view of a situation than your parents or you have to continually repeat yourself because age has taken over and they don't hear you barking so well - you have to be patient.
Whether you are close with your family members or not so close, you have to do the best to make sure you continue to work at the relationships, strengthening. Sometimes it's all about tolerance, other times it's about acceptance - but what underlies it all and makes being a "family" so special is your unconditional love for one another...deep down. Focus on the love, focus on the laughs and your time together - continue to love your family because they will always be there for you.
