Stay current -

It is very important to be aware of the world around us, to watch the news, read the paper, peruse the Internet so that you can know what's going on around you and to be able to take an active role in the history we are creating. There is so much going on in the world on a daily basis, you will need to take certain stories, or headline news with you so that you can actively participate in conversation and to enlighten those who might not have access to the same media that you do.

While it is important to participate in worldly news, it's also important to keep a safe distance, to not get TOO involved in things that you cannot directly control. If you sit in front of CNN all day, getting worked up or upset about political or worldly issues, you will find that feelings of anxiousness or anxiety might arise within you. You might start to feel defensive or angry. Take the top headlines and move on. Let's do our part to participate in making healthy change in this world without letting those things that which we cannot directly control overrule our lives. You can do your part in each part of what affects the world in small doses...know you DO make a difference and have an impact but know that making change might take time, and you may not agree with decisions being made at a higher level.

Pay attention to the world we live in now, actively participate, but keep a safe distance from that which you cannot control...
