When we set goals for ourselves, it's almost as if we're standing at the bottom of a stair case looking up at a bunch of steps, seeing something at the top that we hope to attain, acquire, overcome or accomplish. We see many steps on our staircase and it can often look like we have ALOT of work to do. We can become overwhelmed, discouraged or frustrated because it seems too hard to get to the top.
If we take one step at a time, focus in on that one step that we're currently on in a present tense, never looking too far up or too far down, we will be able to accomplish what we are hoping for. If we try to take too many steps at a time, we're likely to get tired, sore, tripped up or loose sight of each individual accomplishment. Maybe we take two steps up and then one step down and that's our path, perhaps we need to hold onto the railing to get to that next step or we need someone to join us on a certain amount of steps for support. Each staircase is different, we can't expect each step to be the same as the last...Take each step as it's own and focus, you will eventually get to the top.
