Hospitality

When you have guests over, you need to be able to open your home and make them feel comfortable. Make sure to offer your guests access to your water bowl, a place to lay down, share your toys and always offer your cookies - even if hidden in a very good spot or even if they just helped themselves to your cookies WITHOUT the offer, you should be gracious to them and extend the offer.

It is rude to leave your house guest by themselves even if you weren't necessarily the one who invited them over - putting yourself to bed while the guest is over, is not a good idea. Do not growl or try to bite your guests and always walk them to the door upon their departure. Barking at them is rude.

Share a cookie with your puppy.

  2. Dear Hagar.

I am hoping you can help me. I am taking care of my neighbor's dog Ellen for a couple days. What should I do to make the dog happy?

  3. Well Tolson, thank you for the question - to make Ellen happy make sure you take some time to get to know each other first - that is very important. Let her smell you and get acquainted with your smell...

My advice to you is bring a cookie and let Ellen make the first moves...if you get a tail wag, you're golden. Find out if she likes stuffy toys or squeaky or a ball...that's always good informaition to know.

Good luck with Ellen...is she single?
